Mother's Day is here again...yuck...

Ok, so I am a Mother's Day party pooper. I guess I take after my own mother on this one. I think it's just a silly day and usually in my case nothing special happens anyways. I mean, if I'm offered something unusual I'm not gonna turn it down though. Last year my kids and Rick made a lovely supper and this year I didn't have to cook anything at all because we are having leftovers. I have also been up on the deck reading The Work and The Glory for most of the afternoon too. This is probably the most relaxing Mother's Day ever for me though cuz the girls are gone and so not much to do. It's also fast Sunday today for our ward so I haven't even eaten anything. Actually I did sneak a couple pieces of chocolate but shhhh! Don't tell! Rick and Blaze gave me my very own set of tools in a little tool box! I was a bit dissapointed in the size of the box though...I mean, what do they think I am? A SISSY?? ha ha...no really though guys, I LOVE my new tools. And don't even think about stealing them Ricky! Plus my girls called me too...but I think that's the thing I don't like about this day is that everyone thinks they need to call their mom's and it's like we're all being FORCED to call our moms and granny's. And well, I don't like to be FORCED to do ANYTHING! Well, I personally don't need a special day to call my awesome mom and granny. I talk to them all the time. So whatever...I'm a party pooper. But I did get this email the other day at work and thought it was pretty cool so I'll post this poem by Maya Angelou who I think is Oprah's favorite author. Wouldn't bet my life on that though! Enjoy!

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....

Enough money within her control to move out
And rent a place of her own,
Even if she never wants to or needs to...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..

Something perfect to wear if the employer,
Or date of her dreams wants to see her in an hour...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...

A youth she's content to leave behind....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...

A past juicy enough that she's looking forward to
Retelling it in her old age....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .....

A set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a black lace bra...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....

One friend who always makes her laugh... And one who lets her cry...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....

A good piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in her family...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..

Eight matching plates, wine glasses with stems,
And a recipe for a meal,
That will make her guests feel honored...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....

A feeling of control over her destiny....

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...

How to fall in love without losing herself..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW..

How to quit a job,
Break up with a lover,
And confront a friend without;
Ruining the friendship...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...

When to try harder... And WHEN TO WALK AWAY...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW....

That she can't change the length of her calves,
The width of her hips, or the nature of her parents..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...

That her childhood may not have been perfect...but it's over...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...

What she would and wouldn't do for love or more.

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
How to live alone... Even if she doesn't like it...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW. ..

Whom she can trust,
Whom she can't,
And why she shouldn't take it personally...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...

Where to go...
Be it to her best friend's kitchen table...
Or a charming inn in the woods...
When her soul needs soothing...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...

What she can and can't accomplish in a day...
A month...and a year...

Hi, you don't know me but I found your blog while searching for headlice info. We are struggling with this in our family in Florida and I'm wondering if you had trouble getting rid of it. I also have photos of my hair being treated! Thanks, Sherry in Florida
